Ozil partially to blame for Arsenal title collapse-Olivier Giroud

Arsenal title collapse this season was due to a lot of factors and our french striker thinks that the problem was not individual but it was a collective one.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has stated that Arsenal’s failure to win silverware this season was due to the team as a whole rather than individual poor form.

The France international scored 16 league goals but he was criticised by some sections of Arsenal’s fanbase after he failed to find the net between January and April.

Giroud also decided to name Mesut Ozil for being less effective in the second half of the season than the first.

“Our problems were collective,” he told French newspaper L’Equipe.

I’ve been less efficient compared to the first half of the season, but it is same for all the players, either Ozil or another.

“We mostly talk about the striker because you are at the end of the line.”

Ozil was also voted Player of the Season for his efforts but his club were unable to lift a trophy. The 27-year0old has had a terrific season at Arsenal providing the highest number of assists in the Premier League (19).

The Germany international narrowly missed out on breaking the all time record for setting up the most goals in a single Premier League season currently held by Thierry Henry (20).
